International Indigenous Graduate Education Alliance

Four Indigenous-serving universities in USA agreed in 2005 to create “a partnership for exchanging information and for developing cooperative programs and activities in the areas of teacher education, professional faculty development, and research broadly related to the education of Indigenous people”. This partnership was called International Indigenous Graduate Education Alliance, IIGEA and the participating universities were:
* University of Hawaii
* Western Washington University
* Arizona State University
* University of Alaska Fairbanks

Since November 2009 this partnership agreed to let WINHEC to serve as co-ordinator of the alliance registration and to network through WINHEC. This partnership is now looking for more Indigenous-serving universities in the World to develop their work. The WINHEC Affirmation Board can advice on this. Please contact Mr Ray Barnhardt for further information on this issue at mailing address: rjbarnhardt@uaf.edu
You can also open the Memorandum of Understanding form enclosed below for further reading. WINHEC head-office recieves the MOU from those that joins the alliance and keeps updated information on WINHEC web-site.
