WINHEC delivered a letter on indigenous higher education to the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, tenth session, during the first week of the forum.

WINHEC outgoing chair Jan Henry Keskitalo states it is important that WINHEC participates with statements wherever indigenous issues are debated internationally. WINHEC is concerned about and ready to partner in future monitoring of the implementation of indigenous peoples rights to education. Co-chair Boni Robertson has done a great and important job creating the document with all the writing and editing and WINHEC is particularly thankful to her for dedicating all the time and effort to pull together this and other documents.
